Moscow Center of Eye Microsurgery specializes in using of new laser treatments in ophthalmology. Our clinic employs qualified specialists from Moscow, Doctors of Medical Sciencies. We have three main directions: Laser Vision Correction (Lasik), Cataract surgery and Laser Eye surgery.
First direction — Laser vision correction (LASIK). It is used for nearsightedness (myopia) from 0,5 to 15 diopters, farsightedness (hypermetropia), astigmatism, to eliminate the need for glasses or contact lenses at once. The operations does not need a special preparation, all procedure takes 15-20 minutes and this is painless, safe and secure. The essence of the procedure consists in dosed vaporizing of middle layers of the cornea and giving them the new form with new optical force.
Second direction — Operative treatment of cataract with implantation of artificial lens. The operation is performed on an out-patient basis, under local anesthesia, lasts approximately 10 minutes. An artificial lens is designed for every patient individually using special computer program. Preoperative examination and postoperative monitoring is also in Our Center.
Third direction — Laser operations. Preventive peripheral laser coagulation of the retina (PPLC) is a highly demanded operation. During the procedure, which lasts 10-20 minutes for each eye, a laser beam "cauterises" the retina to the vessel membrane in the weakest places and around its fissures, preventing the most severe complication of nearsightedness - retinal detachment. Laser coagulation is not for the sake of improvement of visual acuity, its aim is prevention of retinal detachment, hemorrhage in a vitreous body and slowdown of progressive changes on eye grounds, in other words, — prevention of blindness. Laser also makes it possible to treat glaucoma and secondary cataract.
Laser eye surgery is one of the most advanced and actively developing direction in the modern ophthalmology. A distinctive feature of the laser surgery is the use of laser beam for accurate and minimum traumatic incision or connection of tissues. Medical laser is indeed a unique instrument, which allows ophthalmologists to do accurate and bloodless surgery and stop when only healthy tissue remains. It is well known that laser radiation in itself has bactericidical properties and ensures proper sterility of surgical procedure, therefore, reducing the risk of postoperative complications. Accelerating regeneration of damaged tissues is another unique characteristic of laser. In our century of high technologies the succes of ophthalmological surgery depends not only on qualification and professional skills of a surgeon, but also on modern equipment.
Our purpose - to provide qualitative medical care. This is why we seek to make use of the latest advances in modern medicine and attract highly qualified specialists in the field of eye microsurgery. The modern equipment allows to run accurate diagnostics, timely determine the causes of the disease. All activities of our center have only one goal — to protect and preserve patients' health.
